Itachi groaned and opened his eyes, looking up at the tree above him. He turned over and saw the little blond boy shivering in his sleep.

"Little brat." Itachi growled half-heartedly and laid his blanket on Deidara.

Itachi laid his wrist on Deidara's forehead.

"Shit, this kid is burning up. What happened to make him like this?" Itachi growled to himself. He noticed Deidara's crusty, bleeding eye and dug in his coat to bring out a white bandage.

"Itachi-saaan...it's too early..." Kisame groaned.

Itachi kicked him in the back.

"Shut up, this kid is burning up. And his eye is bleeding if you haven't noticed." Itachi growled.

"Whatever." Kisame yawned and closed his eyes again.

Itachi taped the bandage to Deidara's eye and wrapped the blond in a heavy blanket.

"Kisame, get up. We're almost to Akatsuki and I don't want to waste time getting this brat treated." Itachi ordered and held Deidara inside his coat.

"If he's a brat why do you care so much, hmm?" Kisame countered.

"He's just a kid, Kisame. Now get up." Itachi shot back and started walking.

"How come you don't have a soft spot for me?"

"Because you're a fish, you useless sushi bar." Itachi growled.

"No! Absolutely not!!" Pein shouted at them.

"He's just a kid, Leader-sama." Itachi growled and narrowed his eyes.

"I don't care if he's one of the Sannin! You can't keep him!" Pein fumed.

"Pein, calm down." Konan said quietly, laying a hand on Pein shoulder.

"Fine, Konan. But you have a week to get rid of that brat!" Pein spat and walked away.

Konan went up to Itachi.

"Don't worry, he'll soften up." She said with a smile. "Let me take him to Kakuzu to get that eye treated."

Itachi pried Deidara's fingers off his hand and pushed Deidara to Konan.

Deidara whimpered and looked up at Konan.

"It's ok," She smiled. "Come on, that eye looks bad. Kakuzu will help you, don't worry."

"O-ok, yeah. I'll see Itachi-san again won't I, yeah?" Deidara mumbled and clasped Konan's hand.

"Of course, call me Aunty Konan." Konan said and lead Deidara away from Itachi and Kisame.

"Ok, yeah. I'm Deidara, un." Deidara answered.

Konan lead Deidara down the hall and into another room.

" 'Kuzu, get over here, this little guy's hurt!" Konan called.

A man with a mask over his mouth sighed and looked up from a book.

"This kid's eye is bad." Konan said and pushed Deidara forward.

"Fine, let me take a look at him." The man ordered.

"It's ok, Deidara. That's Kakuzu. He'll take care of your eye." Konan assured Deidara.

Kakuzu ordered Deidara to sit on a chair and the blond did as he was told.

"Hmm," Kakuzu hummed and peeled the bandage off of Deidara's left eye.

"Shut up and hurry." Konan ordered.

"His eye can't be saved. His right eye is fine, won't be able to see any bright colors for a while, but fine. nd he has a temperature of 105 F." Kakuzu said and pushed Deidara towards Konan again.

"Shit, that's bad." Konan mumbled and put a hand to Deidara's forehead. "You're burning up. We need you to get to bed."

"O-ok, yeah." Deidara murmured and clutched Konan's hand.

"Is he ok, Konan?" Itachi asked.

"Just over-tired, a bad fever and his eye. All he needs is lots of rest, a bandage, and some TLC." Konan assured him. She winked and opened the door. "Go in, he wants to see you."

Itachi went in and sat down in the chair beside the bed Deidara was in.

"Itachi-san, yeah." Deidara said weakly. He had a new bandage on his left eye and his face was pale, and his voice shaky.

"What, Deidara?" Itachi breathed.

"Can I have a hug goodnight, yeah? That's what mama always used to do." Deidara coughed and looked at Itachi pleadingly.

Itachi wrapped his arms around the boy and laid a chaste kiss on his lips.

Deidara's eyes widened and broke away from Itachi.

"W-what was that, yeah!?" He coughed.

"It was just a kiss, Deidara." Itachi whispered, his arms still around Deidara.

"Mama never gave me one of those. At least I don't think so, yeah."

"That's too bad, kisses can feel really good." Itachi answered.

"It did feel good, can I have another one, Itachi-san, yeah?" Deidara whimpered.

Itachi brushed his lips against Deidara's, barely grazing one another's.

"Now go to bed, brat." Itachi ordered and stood up, walking out of the room leaving Deidara alone in the room.

Itachi ran for his room, his heart pounding almost millions of miles an hour.

Why was this kid turning him on?

Well, it had been a long time since he had kissed someone.

Itachi slammed his door shut and collapsed on his bed.

Oh, god. He hated emotions. He hated them so much.

"Well, if I love the kid. If, I'm going to hold on to my feelings. I'll let him get older, then I'll make my move." Itachi sighed. He closed his eyes and started to drift off to sleep.
